Eye and Vision problems can many times be caught early and the earlier a diagnosis can be made by a licensed optometrist, the easier it is to treat.

Your eyes and eye health are important to us.  Our optometry staff wants to ensure we provide treatment options to restore your vision or prevent vision loss.

We suggest a yearly or bi-yearly eye and vision exams for optimal eye health maintenance as recommended by the American Optometric Association.

Eye Exam and Consultaton

Here is what you can expect during an eye exam.  Your optometrist will do a quick interview to do a complete eye health assessment. Questions include any visual concerns or problems you are experiencing, general health and family history, medications you are currently taking, and work environment/demands, and your overall health. It is important to discuss any changes in health or vision as well as any previous conditions.

Eye Function and Alignment Testing

Your eye health is important to us at Dr. Landrio and Associates. Your comprehensive exam includes testing eye functionality to evaluate depth perception, color vision, eye muscle capabilities, peripheral vision, and responsiveness to light. Your eyes are meant to work together so our optometrists will conduct simple tests to ensure your eyes are focusing, moving, and working together properly. The test results enable our optometrists to diagnose any underlying conditions that may be impairing the eyes’ ability to focus or work together.

Testing Your Vision

Clear vision is essential to your busy life.  The best way to ensure you have the best vision possible is through regular vision testing and evaluations. Our optometrists provide regular vision acuity tests as part of a comprehensive eye exam. They will measure how each eye is seeing by using a wall eye chart and a reading eye chart. Depending on the results of your vision test and refraction, the doctor may prescribe corrective glasses, contacts, or eye exercises.

Eye Health

Our optometrists are serious about eye health as the eye is the window to the world! Eye health is evaluated by visually inspecting the eye and eyelids using magnification and a bright light. As part of your comprehensive exam, our optometrist examines the overall health of the eye through a visual examination and tonometry. Tonometry is used to measure eye pressure. Increased eye pressure may be an indicator of glaucoma, so it is important for us to test this as well as examine the internal structures of the eye. We may need to dilate your pupils so the optometrist can diagnose and monitor common eye diseases that may affect your sight.
